The Retreat Schedule

Our retreats starts in Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand, India. When making your travel reservations, you will need to look at connecting flights that get you into Dehradun. Dehradun is well connect via all the major cities like Bombay/Mumbai and Delhi.

Day 01 – Feb 18th 2018 – Rishikesh Visit

Please plan on arriving into Dehradun by noon. You will be met at the airport and taken to our home in Dehradun. Once the team has gathered together, we will drive to Rishikesh which is considered the Yoga capital of the world. We will spend the night in Rishikesh at a local homestay. We will spend the evening visiting the local bazaars in the city and witnessing the famous aarti along the banks of the holy Ganga.

Day 02 – Feb 19th 2018 – Road Trip to the mountains

After breakfast we will travel by road from Rishikesh to Gwaldam, a journey of approximately 7 hours. We will have halts along the way to witness the confluence of two of India’s mighty rivers that join to form the Ganga. We will arrive at Tridiva, our retreat base, in the evening and will retire after an early dinner.

Day 03 – Feb 20th 2018 – Mountain living emersion

Our day starts early with yoga and meditation with mountain views. After breakfast, we will explore the village of Talwadi and plan our meals based on the vegetables that are available in the market. We welcome you to be an active participant in all meal planning and meal preparation activities at our retreat.

Day 04 – Feb 21st 2018 – Local Village Visit

We will spend the day in and around Tridiva. We will help with the local harvest in the village and will have cooking demonstrations by our local chef. Yoga and meditation will also be available. Our guide will also visit in the evening and share stories of local folklore around the outdoor campfire.

Day 05 – Feb 22nd 2018 – Himalayas at night

After a hearty breakfast, we will travel as a group to an alpine meadow that offers stunning views of the Himalayas. Along the way, we will stop in the lovely village of Ghes to visit with the locals. We will spend the night under the stars at our campsite. For those of you who don’t want to camp, a forest guest shed is also available on a first-come-first-served basis. Our activities at camp include folklore by the campfire, hiking and yoga/meditation with views of the majestic Himalayas. For those of you who want to photograph the night sky or the Himalayas, we will help in anyway we can.

Day 06 – Feb 23nd 2018 – Folklore & Relaxation

After breakfast we will wind up camp and make our way back to Trivia and spend the rest of the day relaxing and recuperating from our hike with an evening session of reiki and meditation.

Day 07 – Feb 24th 2018 – Cottage Industry Visit

After breakfast and a morning yoga/meditation session we will make our way to the town of Gwaldam where we will visit some of the local handmade industries for an educational tour and some local shopping. We will have an early dinner in Gwaldam so as to be well rested for our return journey the next day.

Day 08 – Feb 25th 2018 – Biding audieu

This is our travel day back to Dehradun. We will have an early start so that we can make the journey back in time for most people to catch their return flights home. We recommend booking your return flights after 4.00pm as this will give us enough time to get you to the airport with time to spare.

Please note:

This schedule is subject to change based on weather conditions. We have many more activities in and around Trivia and Gwaldam including several smaller hikes, old growth 100 year old forests as well as world UNESCO temple sites. Activities will be substituted based on weather conditions in the mountains.
