Photography Basics Workshop

Getting to know your camera to improve your photography

The Workshop Experience

The question of how to take good pictures is one that comes up frequently, regardless of skill level or the gear being used.  We all want to take good pictures for various reasons. Some want to use photos to document their daily lives, some want to use photos to document kids, family and pets. Others want to use photos to showcase their business, products or work or even document travel and nature. Regardless of what you want to do, have a basic understanding of photography and your camera is key to taking good pictures.

It seems that every family has a designated “picture taker” – i.e. you! You are the one who is ‘in charge of’ the camera and is tasked with capturing those moments that we all want to remember.

From family vacations to holiday gatherings; your daughter’s dance recital or your son’s soccer game; that delicious meal you cooked or the amazing flowers your husband got you for your anniversary – there never seems to be an end to our everyday lives to chronicle with images. And at these times, a phone camera just doesn’t cut it! This workshop goes over the basics of photography with respect to the key technical aspects, gear, settings etc and also provides some basic tips and principles to follow to help you get better pictures.  It doesn’t matter what the subject is, there are things that you can do each time you get the camera out to make images that are more appealing.

It is perfect for someone who wants to learn to take better pictures that they are proud of!
